An Irish Capital Gains Tax relief on passing a family business to the next generation or selling it, available to owners from age 55.
Under section 599 of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997, from 1 January 2025 a €10 million cap applies to transfers to children for owners aged 55 to 69, reducing to €3 million from age 70.
